The Jonesboro fire department operates from 7 stations strategically located throughout the city covering approximately 80+ square miles which includes the campus of Arkansas State University, and east, west, and south Jonesboro area. Brackett Krennerich worked closely with the Jonesboro Fire Department on each station beginning in 2000 with the Central Fire Station.
The goal of the stations designs was to create a cohesive and functional series of stations that would be recognizable within the community and provide all the amenities required to be affective for the citizens of Jonesboro. The
The core areas of each station can be divided up between the apparatus bay and the living quarters. Each apparatus bay area is equipped with equipment storage areas, decontamination rooms, turn out area and shop maintenance room.
The living area portions of the building include a great room for gathering and break between calls, kitchen area, laundry, as well as, captains’ office and other support space. The core portion of the living area includes individual bunk rooms, locker rooms, and restrooms.
