Hoxie School District

New Elementary School

Hoxie, Arkansas

The Hoxie School District has been in need of a new elementary school in recent years due to antiquated facilities that have become difficult to repair and maintain. These efforts began in 2022 as the school district moved forward with seeking state partnership funding to develop and construct a new elementary school on campus that would allow the district to not only upgrade facilities, but to plan for the future.

The 68,000 square foot structure will house all elementary level classrooms including kindergarten. Additionally, this structure will house new cafeteria and dining, new library media spaces, gym and performance space, and other educational classrooms such as music and art.

In order to facilitate safety measures for the student body; this facility will also include a safe room integral to the building and serving as a classroom when not being utilized. This is an ICC 500 rated facility.

The linear proportions of the building give it a dominate position on the west side of the campus. This new facility will re-energize the campus and the surrounding area. Additionally, site modifications and removal of some overgrown areas at the campus edge has allowed the school district to enhance the experience on campus for both students and staff alike.
